In 2013, Archetonic was awarded first place in the competition for the monument commemorating 100 years of the Jewish community’s presence in Mexico.

The project is structured around a load-bearing wall that organizes two complementary conditions. On one side, 100 sculpted stone pieces with robust finishes commemorate each year, evoking the arrival of the first immigrants—dense materials, irregular forms, and a presence that conveys the strength and determination required to begin a new life.

In contrast, these same elements multiply on the opposite side into a set of 400 more slender and refined pieces. Their arrangement suggests the growth of new generations and the consolidation of a community that develops in parallel, sharing a common horizon. The transition between both faces of the wall thus proposes a temporal reading: from origin to belonging, from arrival to collective construction.

Each piece was conceived as a unique element, with subtle variations that avoid repetition and emphasize the singular character of each commemorated year. Carved in different regions across Mexico—including Guerrero and Puebla—and assembled in Veracruz, the pieces reinforce, through their own material process, the idea of displacement and integration.

The base, which incorporates acknowledgments to the participants, allows the wall to appear slightly suspended, emphasizing a sense of openness and the opportunities that have accompanied this process over time.
