The master’s thesis by Jaime Micha, developed as part of a Master’s in Design Studies, is conceived as a research project exploring the possibilities of intervention in pre-existing structures.

The work proposes a systematic reading of different spatial approaches to architectural reuse, organized through a taxonomic framework that allows for the comparison of strategies and positions in relation to what is already built.

From this perspective, intervention is understood not only as a formal operation, but as a form of dialogue with time, material, and context. Sharing this document seeks to open a broader discussion around these practices, offering a conceptual tool to rethink the relationship between contemporary architecture and preexistence.
